Join us and other local, community organizations on this historic day to denounce 1070 and ignite the fire that keeps this struggle for human rights going!
On Thursday, July 29th, the day SB1070 is scheduled to take effect, we are co-hosting an event to provide a space where we can vent our fears and frustrations, invigorate our spirits through music and art and find ways to continue to fight against 1070 and for the well-being of our families and state.
When: Thursday, July 29th from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Where: Presidio Park at 160 West Alameda St., Tucson, AZ (Click here for a map)
This is a non-violent event open to all, including families with children. There will be live music, artist performances, an open mic and a children's art project throughout the day amidst presentations about the five ways we are fighting SB1070.
Prior to the "Esfuerzo Educativo", a group of faith leaders have organized a vigil starting at 11:30pm on July 28th in the same location at Presidio Park, continuing throughout the night and concluding with an Interfaith Service at 7:00am. There will also be an all night vigil at the State Building in Tucson that will continue through the night and turn into a convergence that persists throughout the day on Thursday, the 29th.
We hope you participate in any and all of these events. If you have any questions or for more information, please contact our office at 520.623.4944.
