No hay traduccion en este momento. Arizona Members of Border Task Force present border enforcement recommendations
On May 20th, the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Immigration held a hearing
about border issues. The hearing demonstrated that the Committee chair, Senator Schumer (D-NY), and other committee
members are ready for immigration reform this year and are working to find
meaningful solutions for border security. While there were good speakers on the panel, including El Paso County Sheriff Richard Wiles and Eagle Pass, TX Mayor Chad Foster, Arizona's representation fell to former- Arizona Congressman-turned-radio-talk show host, JD Hayworth, who is neither from the border region nor familiar with its complexities.
The Arizona members of the US-Mexico Border and Immigration Task Force have come together to ensure that their professional expertise as well as their lived experience as border residents helps share border enforcement policy. This week, the group is launching the first of weekly podcasts featuring Task Force members. Each 3-5 minute interview will highlight one of the Task Force’s recommendations for effective border policy.
